We Are Driven by Our Global Classroom
ROC acts as the implementing organization for the Global Classroom by providing teaching support to faculty & staff at partner institutions.
We facilitate regular classes, fundraise to cover building maintenance costs, arrange tutoring efforts for participating students, and commit to complete transparency with our partners.
Education & Forced Displacement
Currently, the UN Agency for Refugees (UNHCR) states ~117 million individuals face forced displacement and only 9% of that total have access to tertiary education.
Global Classroom - Dzaleka Refugee Camp
The Global Classroom is a university program organized in Dzaleka Refugee Camp, Malawi. The program was created to close the gap between forced displacement and equal education rights to standardized curriculum in these zones. The program was initially created in partnership with Central Michigan University (CMU), which provided college classes for a cohort of 20 students experiencing forced displacement in Dzaleka. Students in this initial cohort worked towards an International Security Studies Certificate.
